Selecting a Major:
The two most popular majors are Biology and Agricultural Science at Truman State University, this does not mean that you have to choose either of these two majors. Remember schools like diversity so choosing a different major may work in your favor. However you must consider the time you want to spend doing undergraduate work as it may be hard to complete all of the extra vet school requirements in four years if you do decide to choose a non-science major. It should also be noted that it is not necessary to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree before going to vet school; it is possible to apply to vet school as long as the class requirements are met (see the Academics tab). So if you finish the required courses in three years you are still able to apply.

Below are the degree requirements at Truman State.

Learning Plan

15

Students will design an individualized Learning Plan in consultation with their academic advisor.  This plan, to which very few restrictions apply, is intended to meet the life-long needs of the student.  Such a plan might include an existing minor in a discipline other than Biology, additional Biology courses, or a mixture of courses from several disciplines.  Learning plans must be submitted to and approved by a committee of Biology faculty members.
